# How do I migrate students between teachers? (End of year migration)


### If you need to migrate students between teachers in ALTR (e.g. end of year migration of students to a new class), this article will guide you through the process.

|| **Note: Only the Principal account on ALTR can migrate students between teachers.**

### Steps to Migrate Students

1. **Navigate to the Student List** and click on the 'Organise students' button on the right-hand side of the page.

2. Select **Students **from the left-hand table (see below) that you wish to migrate. Then, on the right-hand table, select the teacher you wish to migrate these students to.


3. **Migrate the Students** by clicking on the blue arrow button between the two tables and then click on 'Done' to complete the migration.
