# How do I purchase additional classroom licences?

When you add a class, you need a licence for it. You can buy licences at any time from the Subscription screen.



**1. Open the purchase window**

On Subscription, in the "Classroom licences" panel, click "Purchase additional licences". You can also get here from the "All classroom licences are in use" message when you try to add a classroom or invite a teacher.

**2. Choose how many**

Use the "Additional licences" field. The window shows your new annual total, including the 20% discount if you reach ten or more, and what you pay today:

* On a free trial: "No charge today - all licences bill together when your free trial ends."
* On a paid subscription: a pro-rata amount for the rest of your current year, shown as "Pay $X today". All licences then renew together on your renewal date.

**3. Confirm**

Click "Confirm purchase". Schools paying by card are charged the pro-rata amount now and the licences are ready to use immediately. Schools paying by invoice receive an invoice due in 14 days; the licences are ready to use straight away.

**If you see "Add a payment method first"**

Your school has no card on file. On the Subscription screen, under Payment Method, click Change and add one, then purchase the licences. See [How to change account payment method](https://support.altr.com.au/en-au/article/how-to-change-account-payment-method-g4r1lf/).
