# How do I review and submit scanned results?

Nothing is saved to a student's record until you click "Submit results". Before that, ALTR walks you through anything requiring your input.

**1. Answer any questions ALTR has**

After you click "Finished", you may see one or more cards. Most sessions have none.

* **Unknown student:** ALTR could not match the page to a student, usually because the QR code was not readable. It shows the name it recognised and its best guesses. Click the right student, or pick from "Or choose a student" and click "Assign".
* **Missing term / week:** Enter the term and week printed on the sheet and click "Save".
* **Duplicate sheet:** The same sheet was scanned twice. Both scans are shown side by side. Click "Discard this scan" or "Discard earlier scan" to keep the better one.
* **Already recorded:** This student already has results for the tests on the page. Click "Discard this scan" unless the student genuinely sat the test again, in which case click "Record anyway".
* **Page does not match the expected test:** Click "Use suggested test", choose the test the student actually sat, or "Discard this page".

Pages that failed to process are listed with "Retry" and "Discard" buttons. Click "Review summary" when the list is clear.

*A duplicate sheet looks like this:*

**2. Check the summary**

The Scan summary lists every student with their score. A student with "No answers detected" had a blank sheet; nothing will be saved for them. If any words were hard to read, a "Requires review" section appears at the top with a "Review" button for each affected student.

**3. Check the highlighted words**

Click "Review" for a student. Each word is shown as a row: the student's handwriting, the expected word, what ALTR recognised, the confidence level, and a verdict of Correct or Incorrect. The rows ALTR was unsure about are highlighted. Look at the handwriting and tap Correct or Incorrect to set the mark, the same decision you would make marking by hand. You can change any row, not just the highlighted ones. Click "Confirm words" once done.

**4. Submit**

Click "Submit results". ALTR confirms "Saved N test results" and tells you how many students progressed to their next test. From here, choose "Back to dashboard" or "Scan another session".

**Where the results go**

Each result appears in the student's Past Tests exactly like a manually entered result, with a small camera icon showing it was scanned. Click the icon to see the original scanned page.
