# What happens when all of our classroom licences are in use?

When every licence is in use, ALTR stops you adding a classroom or inviting a teacher, and shows "All classroom licences are in use" with the number you hold. You have two options.

**Free a licence**

On the Classrooms page, archive a classroom you no longer run. Its licence is released immediately and you can create the new classroom. Students and their results stay on record.

**Buy a licence**

Click "Purchase additional licences" in the message, or on the Subscription screen. On a trial there is nothing to pay today. On a paid subscription you pay a pro-rata amount for the rest of the year and the licence is ready to use straight away.

Teachers who try to sign up when the school is out of licences see "Your school has used all of its classroom licences. Please ask your principal to purchase additional licences." Once a licence is free or purchased, they can try again.
