# What is a classroom licence?

ALTR is priced per classroom. Each classroom your school runs in ALTR uses one licence, and your subscription is the number of licences you hold.


**Price**

* $199 per classroom per year, including GST.
* Ten or more licences: 20% off every licence, so $159.20 each. For example, 12 classrooms is $1,910.40 a year, not $2,388.
* Your annual price is shown on the Subscription screen and on the registration page when you sign up.

**What counts as a classroom**

* One class of students with one teacher. A split or multi-year class is one classroom and uses one licence.
* A classroom uses its licence whether or not a teacher is assigned to it yet.
* Archiving a classroom frees its licence to reuse. Restoring it uses a licence again.
* Teachers are not the unit. One teacher with two classrooms uses two licences; two teachers job-sharing one class use one.

**Where to see your licences**

Open Subscription. The "Classroom licences" panel shows your plan, how many licences you have purchased and how many classrooms you have created, your renewal date and your annual price.
