Classroom pricing: frequently asked questions

We subscribed before classroom pricing. Has our price changed?

No. Your school stays on its current plan and renews at the same price until you choose to switch from the Subscription screen.

How do I know whether switching is worth it?

The "New: per-classroom pricing" card on the Subscription screen compares your current annual price with what your classrooms would cost. As a rough guide, classroom pricing costs less than the 50 to 249 student band with up to 12 classrooms, less than the 250 to 499 band with up to 24, and less than the 500 to 749 band with up to 36.

If we switch, when does the new price apply?

At your next renewal. Nothing is charged or refunded when you switch.

Does a split class or a multi-year class cost two licences?

No. One class of students with one teacher is one classroom and one licence, whatever year groups it covers.

Does an empty classroom cost a licence?

Yes, while it exists. Archive classrooms you are not using and the licence is freed.

Do teachers cost licences?

No. Licences are for classrooms. A teacher with two classes uses two, and two teachers sharing one class use one.

What do I need to set up first?

Create your classrooms on the Classrooms page and assign a teacher to each. Teachers you invite from the Teachers page get their class list from the classroom they are assigned to.

What appears on our invoice?

"Annual subscription for N classrooms", where N is the number of licences you hold, plus the bulk discount line when it applies. Prices include GST. See Where can I find my invoices or receipts?.

Does archiving a classroom delete anything?

No. Students, teachers and results are untouched. The classroom simply stops using a licence and can be restored later.

Can we reduce our licences?

Yes. Archive the classrooms you no longer need, then use "Reduce licences" on the Subscription screen. You keep your current licences until your next renewal, which bills the new count. Nothing is refunded for the current term.

Who can make these changes?

Principals and deputy principals. Teachers see their classroom but cannot change licences.
