How do I manage my school's classrooms?
The Classrooms page is where principals and deputy principals set up the classes the school runs, assign teachers to them, and free up licences by archiving classes that are no longer needed. Teachers see their classroom on their own class list.
1. Open Classrooms
From the sidebar, click Classrooms. Each classroom in the list uses one licence, whether or not a teacher is assigned. The Subscription screen shows how many licences you hold.

2. Add a classroom
Click "Add another classroom". Give it a class name if you use them (for example 3B), tick the year group or groups it covers, and optionally choose the teacher. A split or multi-year class is one classroom covering several years and uses a single licence. Click "Create classroom".
If every licence is already in use, "Add another classroom" shows "All classroom licences are in use" instead of the form; see the article on licences in use.
3. Assign or change the teacher
Click the assign icon on the classroom's row and choose who teaches it. When you hand a classroom from one teacher to another, the box "Move students to the new teacher" is ticked by default so the students go with the class. Untick it to leave them where they are and move them later from Class Arrangement.
4. Edit or archive
Click the edit icon to rename a classroom or change its year groups; students in the class follow the rename. Click the archive icon to retire a classroom you no longer run. Archiving frees its licence so you can create another classroom without buying one. Students and their results are untouched, and the classroom can be restored later from the "Archived" section, which uses a licence again.

Good to know
- If a teacher leaves and their account is removed, their classroom stays, unassigned, and keeps its licence until you archive it or assign someone else.
- New teachers are invited from the Users page and then assigned to a classroom here. A teacher without a classroom has no class list. See How do I add a teacher?.
