How do I add a new student? Or import bulk students?


Adding a new student to your classroom can be done by a Principal/Deputy Principal or Teacher by following these steps:


  1. Login and go to the 'Students' tab, and select the 'Add New Student' button.




  1. Enter the necessary information (name, gender, teacher, classroom, etc.) and click 'Add Student'.



The new student will now be added to the system and will be visible immediately within the selected teacher's dashboard.


Note: By design only the first three letters of the student's surname can be entered to ALTR to help with privacy within the system.


Students can also be added using the 'Import CSV Students' option, which allows you to add multiple students to the class in one go.


  1. You can download the sample sheet using the “Template” option, as a CSV or Excel file. You can then populate student details in the downloaded sample file.

Once you've populated the template with student details you can upload it to the ALTR platform.


  1. The template file has the following fields

For the columns, "True" means "Yes" and "False" means "No". e.g. If you mention False for Special needs, it will mean that the student does not have special needs.


  1. Click on 'Import CSV Students'

  1. Upload the filled template file to the app.

  1. Click the 'Save' button to finalise the import.

The new students will now be added to the system and will be visible immediately within the selected teacher's dashboard.
