How do I enter prior data for students?
If you're looking to add student data from previous terms (e.g., Terms 1-3) into the ALTR platform, follow the steps below. This guide will help you navigate the process of entering prior test results and other important data.
- Add Students to the Platform
Before entering any prior data, ensure that the students are added to the platform. You can add students manually through the ALTR interface.
You can read more about adding students here - How do I add a new student? Or import bulk students?
- Choose Whether to Skip Prior Tests
When adding students to the system, you will be presented with an option to allow the students to skip previous tests. This decision depends on whether you want to include their previous term data in your current testing.
- If you choose to skip prior tests: The system will only assign tests relevant to the current term.
- If you choose not to skip prior tests: You will be able to enter test results from previous terms manually.
- Access Student Profiles
Once your students are added to the system, you can access their individual profiles. In each profile, you’ll have the option to manually enter test results.
- Enter Prior Test Data
Within each student’s profile, there is a section where you can enter previous test results. This is where you can input data from your spreadsheet, including test results from prior terms. To do this:
- 1. Go to the student from Students list.
- 2. Click on "Test Now" button to enter previous test data OR "Skip Test" button if you want to skip the previous test(s).
- 3. Manually enter the test data from your spreadsheet into ALTR and submit the test result.
- Compare Data Across Terms
Once the previous term data is entered, teachers will be able to see the student’s progression throughout the year by comparing their results from Term 1-3 with their results in Term 4.
This process will allow you to successfully add prior data for students, providing valuable insight into their performance and progress throughout the year.
