How do I print test sheets for AI scanning?
ALTR test sheets are personalised. Each one carries the student's name, the term and week, and a QR code that ALTR uses to match the scanned page to the right student and tests. Always print sheets from ALTR rather than photocopying a blank one.
1. Open the Print Tests window
There are three places to print from:
- Tests page: click "Print Tests" on a test level to print for the whole level.
- A student's profile: click "Print Test Sheet" to print for one student.
- Teacher dashboard: click the printer icon next to an overdue test to print for that student.
If "Print Tests" is greyed out, hover over it. The message tells you why, for example "No students assigned to this test yet" or "This test is not available in the current term".
2. Choose the students
Everyone at the level is selected by default. Deselect anyone who is away, or use "Clear" and tick the students you want to test. The counter shows how many sheets you are about to print. Click "Generate PDF".

3. Print
The preview shows "N sheets ready" with the year, term and week. Click "Print / Save as PDF". Sheets are A4 and print one per page in the same order as your class list, last name first, so the pile matches the list. Print at 100% scale with no "fit to page" shrinking, so the QR code stays sharp.

Good to know
- Reprinting a sheet creates a new QR code. If you reprint, use the newest copy and recycle the old one.
- Sheets are tied to the term and week they were printed for. Print fresh sheets for each testing window.
- "Scan Tests" only becomes available after you have printed sheets for that level and testing window.
