How do I scan test sheets from my phone?

Phone cameras focus better and cope with classroom lighting better than most laptop webcams, so scanning from your phone will likely be quicker than using your webcam. Pages you capture on the phone go into the same scanning session on your computer.

1. Start the session on your computer

On the Tests page, click "Scan Tests" as usual, then click "Scan from phone" at the bottom of the capture screen. A window titled "Scan from your phone" displays a QR code.

2. Open the link on your phone/tablet

Point your phone's camera app at the QR code and tap the link it offers. A portrait camera page opens in your phone's browser. You do not need to log in on the phone. The link works for a short time only, so open it straight away; if you see "This scan link has expired", click "Scan from phone" on the computer again for a fresh code.

3. Capture the sheets on the phone

Hold the phone above each sheet, or hold the sheet up in front of it, with the whole page in view. The same guidance messages appear, and the phone flashes "Page captured" for each sheet. The counter shows "N pages uploaded". If a page shows as "not sent yet", tap "Retry" once you have signal or Wi-Fi.

4. Finish on the phone, review on the computer

Tap "Finished" on the phone. It confirms "N pages sent. You can return to your computer to review and save the results." Back on the computer, click "Done" on the QR window, then "Finished" to move to the review and summary.
